As promised, here are my favorites from our Halloween shoot. Last year’s Frozen mania has been replaced by a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles obsession. Lately I’ve been loving the hazy, backlit look. A few weeks ago we took our girls out to a regional park and hiking spot for a little golden hour fun. And I can honestly say that we all actually had fun (not always the case when I photograph my own kids!). The girls frolicked in grassy fields, ran up and down hilly hiking trails, admired passing dogs and greeted their owners. It was a beautiful evening and I love the images. I have wanted to take photos of my girl/s in the snow forever now. The problem is, we live in Southern CA and although we could probably access snow in about a two hours’ drive, between the husband’s work schedule and our demanding calendar, I just wasn’t sure it would happen for us this year. I love this family so much! This was one of those rare fun occasions where I had the pleasure of photographing friends. I adore these shots because I feel that they really convey who this family is- lots of fun and lots of love between them. The authentic interactions here make me happy. I got to hang out with this cute little lady and her parents a few weeks ago. Isn’t she a doll? She was mostly serious with those soulful brown eyes, but her Mommy and Daddy sure got a few precious giggles out of her! What a beautiful family!     Goldieblox. I LOVE when I get to photograph my friends. I’m so excited for these three as they await the arrival of Baby Girl #2. I know sweet S is going to be a great big sister. I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family of four-soon-to-be-five a few weeks back. It was especially lovely because it brought me to my hometown, about an hour-and-a-half southeast of where we live now. Mom requested a magical, ethereal feel for the shoot, which I must admit is my favorite! These four were such a joy to photograph and looked so gorgeous.
