I’m so excited for these three as they await the arrival of Baby Girl #2. I know sweet S is going to be a great big sister. And how beautiful is this family, by the way? It was so much fun hanging out with them for a little while. Next time I see them, they will be a family of 4!Doners-Blog-1Doners-Blog-7Doners-Blog-2Doners-Blog-3Doners-Blog-6Doners-Blog-8Doners-Blog-4Doners-Blog-5PS

  1. Spiced Eggnog coffee pods for my Keurig. Yum!
  2. We made salt dough handprint ornaments using this salt dough recipe. We just did Shiloh this year, to match the identical ones we made with Adeline 2 years ago. They both turned out great, but last year we did a whole family one using Model Magic and I love that one too!
  3. Here comes the rain…I’ll take it. We need it and it calls for fireplace fires and coziness!
  4. Took the kiddos to visit Santa this week. He was the nicest Santa ever- spent so much time with them, teaching Adeline a game and letting her take more than her fair share of candy canes. She loved him. Shiloh, on the other hand, only liked him from a safe distance and I have the funny/sad crying-baby-on-Santa’s-lap pic to prove it, poor kid!
  5. Need a warm fuzzy video this week? A fellow photographer friend (check out her awesome work here) shared this gem with me. So sweet! <3

This is likely to be my last post before Christmas, so Happiest of Holidays to you and yours from Sweet Adeline Photography! See you all in 2015!

The Trifecta https://sweetadelinephoto.com/the-trifecta/ https://sweetadelinephoto.com/the-trifecta/#respond Fri, 05 Dec 2014 06:14:52 +0000 http://sweetadelinephoto.com/?p=1448 I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family of four-soon-to-be-five a few weeks back. It was especially lovely because it brought me to my hometown, about an hour-and-a-half southeast of where we live now. Mom requested a magical, ethereal feel for the shoot, which I must admit is my favorite! These four were such a joy to photograph and looked so gorgeous. I can’t wait for the news of Baby Girl #3’s arrival this month!Shalini-Blog3Shalini-Blog1Shalini-Blog6Shalini-Blog11Shalini-Blog2Shalini-Blog4Shalini-Blog9Shalini-Blog7Shalini-Blog8Shalini-Blog10PS

  1. Christmas time is here! Looking forward to all of the holiday festivities coming up- Christmas light walks, parties, crafting, (more) decorating..it’s the most wonderful time of the year 😉
  2. Which means, among other things..Dono the Elf is back! Follow along with his misadventures: Dono ’14
  3. Thankful for friends who are willing to help when you need it. Shiloh gets “nursemaid’s elbow” (a condition common in little ones wherein a ligament slips out of place near the elbow). It happened tonight, and a friend was able to talk us through how to relocate it over the phone to spare us from an ER visit. (Kids, don’t try this at home).
  4. Tried Jamberry nails for the first time! Love the designs. Check them out here: http://www.jamberrynails.net
  5. I don’t *think* I’ve shared this here before, but it’s worth the risk of a repeat in case I didn’t. Here’s my favorite, easy home made salad dressing that I’ve been putting on every salad lately: mix equal parts olive oil, soy sauce, and maple syrup. So delicious!

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and is enjoying their holiday season so far! :)

Little Cowboy On the Way! https://sweetadelinephoto.com/little-cowboy-on-the-way/ https://sweetadelinephoto.com/little-cowboy-on-the-way/#respond Sun, 25 May 2014 06:22:44 +0000 http://sweetadelinephoto.com/?p=869 This is the first expecting couple so far that I’ve photographed who chose to wait until the big day to learn the gender of their baby. I admire their patience! Since I did this shoot, the couple has welcomed a healthy baby boy. Congrats to the beautiful little family! blog-2blog-1blog-3blog-6blog-4blog-5PS

  1. Love is in the air. Going to a friend’s wedding tomorrow. I just adore weddings <3
  2. Not doing a “365” project, per say, but made a vow to myself to pick up my camera at least once a day. iPhones and the like make it so easy NOT to pick up my DSLR, and just capture the everyday moments on my cell. But, doing that is depriving me of opportunities for growth. So, I will try, if not once a day, then several times a week, to pick up my camera at home (obviously I’m not referring to client shoots, haha) and capture those ‘everyday’ moments in an artistic way.
  3. The plumeria that we started here from a cutting of the tree at our old house appears to have buds on it. I hesitate to even say this because I so badly want it to bloom, and don’t want to jinx it in any way, haha. I go in the backyard everyday to check on it. If it blooms any time, uh, ever, I will be out there with my macro reverse ring adaptor (because that is the closest thing I own to an actual macro lens) taking pics of it (and smelling its heavenly scent)!
  4. Trader Joe’s chickenless “chicken” salad. So delicious. The mustard seed really makes it. Yum.
  5. “The Bachelorette” is back. Total guilty pleasure. Luckily I have a little group of friends who indulge also and we swap texts about the drama every week :)

Coming Soon: Party of Four! https://sweetadelinephoto.com/coming-soon-party-of-four/ https://sweetadelinephoto.com/coming-soon-party-of-four/#respond Sat, 12 Oct 2013 22:55:53 +0000 http://sweetadelinephoto.com/?p=518 I had the pleasure of spending a lovely evening at the beach with this beautiful mama and her boys. Big brother A was so sweet and patient, letting me take photos without protest even though the nearby playground was calling his name! He’s sure to show his little brother the ropes when he arrives later this fall! Here are some favorites from the session.Untitled-1 copyIMG_5283IMG_5327Untitled-3IMG_5368IMG_5425IMG_5427IMG_5518Untitled-2PS

  1. Looking SO forward to hubby’s upcoming two-week vacation from work! Lots of family fun planned, including a pumpkin patch visit and pumpkin carving!
  2. Decorated the house for Halloween. Might have gone a teeny bit overboard with the Pinterest-inspired decorations, but what can I say- I’m spirited!
  3. I think it’s safe to say I’ve gotten my cooking groove back after a hiatus following Shiloh’s birth. I’ve made some yummy dinners lately and discovered some delicious new vegetarian and vegan recipes!
  4. My new fave app is Ziplist. You can virtually clip recipes from Pinterest or the web, save them to your “recipe box,” and generate grocery lists from them. Best of all, it’s free!
  5. Since Dexter ended, the hubby and I needed a new show, so we just started Breaking Bad. We are halfway through the first season and I’m already hooked!

Big Sister-to-Be https://sweetadelinephoto.com/big-sister-to-be/ https://sweetadelinephoto.com/big-sister-to-be/#respond Thu, 12 Sep 2013 18:28:43 +0000 http://sweetadelinephoto.com/?p=449 A few weeks back, I ran my first ever giveaway contest on my Facebook page for a free mini session. Earlier in the week, I got to photograph the winner- a gorgeous mama-to-be- and her beautiful little family. We shot at the tropical “garden paradise” Hartley Botanica in Somis- such a breathtaking setting! I had a great time photographing these three (well, four) and I know one-year-old A is going to make a great big sister!Untitled-1Untitled-2IMG_4419Untitled-3IMG_4450IMG_4583IMG_4618IMG_4634PS

  1. Baby Shiloh is starting to crawl! She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth and does one crawl or two. Any day now, she’s going to really be going to town, and then I’ll be in big trouble!
  2. I’m getting so excited for Fall, my favorite season! Crisp weather, Halloween and the holidays around the corner, and all things pumpkin- yum!
  3. Speaking of Fall…so excited to do my mock mini’s this weekend! Going to test out the set. Mini session info to follow!
  4. Eli is obsessed with the Smurfs, which I find amusing because she hasn’t seen the movie yet. My aunt got her a bunch of Smurfs figurines and she takes those things wherever she goes- she calls them her “monsters,” haha.
  5. Reading a great book right now- “The Language of Flowers” by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. Hoping I can get some reading in today when the girls are napping 😉
