As promised, here are my favorites from our Halloween shoot. Last year’s Frozen mania has been replaced by a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles obsession. Last week, I had the pleasure of shooting Adeline in a gorgeous, custom Hippity Hoot Notions dress. When you have such a fabulous dress to build your shoot around, you have to come up with some pretty novel (okay, maybe slightly nutty) ideas. Lately I’ve been loving the hazy, backlit look. A few weeks ago we took our girls out to a regional park and hiking spot for a little golden hour fun. And I can honestly say that we all actually had fun (not always the case when I photograph my own kids!). The girls frolicked in grassy fields, ran up and down hilly hiking trails, admired passing dogs and greeted their owners. It was a beautiful evening and I love the images. I gotta say, this is one of my favorite shoots in a long time. Sometimes everything- the location, the light, the styling, the model- just comes together so perfectly, and this was one of those times. I adore sessions like this, where I get to capture a lot of authentic moments and kids just being kids- collecting sticks, climbing trees, snuggling loveys. I got to hang out with this cute little lady and her parents a few weeks ago. Isn’t she a doll? I can hardly believe it, but somehow my first baby just turned FOUR!! I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family of four-soon-to-be-five a few weeks back. It was especially lovely because it brought me to my hometown, about an hour-and-a-half southeast of where we live now. Mom requested a magical, ethereal feel for the shoot, which I must admit is my favorite! These four were such a joy to photograph and looked so gorgeous. Life with 3 is fun and busy! That was the takeaway from this family portrait session- these three never stopped moving and playing (and of course Mom and Dad got in on the action, too)! This was such a fun session! Shot this little dude for a Father’s Day gift for his Daddy and Grandpa. I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable family last weekend (on Super Bowl Sunday, but don’t worry- I let Dad off the hook before the game!). I enjoyed shooting this family recently at one of my favorite rustic locales. This little guy is absolutely breathtaking, a little mini James Dean! What a stud. We also lucked out with possibly the coolest photobomb of my photography career to date- a praying mantis!
